"Master Your focus"— Visualising Procrastination

Master Your Focus is a project developed as part of my MA Communication Design studies. It visualises procrastination and its impact on my creative process. Through the Pebble Game, a metal ball navigates a maze of distractions — from social media and movies to online shopping — on its way to the “Success” hole. This interactive artefact transforms the abstract nature of procrastination into a tangible, reflective experience, helping me better understand and confront how distractions influence my creativity.

Challenges

Procrastination often disrupts my creative process, leading to delayed or unfinished projects. The challenge was to explore this behaviour, understand its roots, and find a way to visualise how distractions derail focus and progress.

Insights

We rarely realise how procrastination impacts us until we see it physically. Making it tangible can help understand and confront it.

Idea

Pebble Game — a physical game where a metal ball represents ideas and creative energy. Players guide the ball through a maze of distractions (social media, movies, online shopping), aiming for the “Success” hole. The game visualises procrastination, turning focus versus distraction into a tangible, reflective experience.
